On September 8, Kazakhstan and France discussed cooperation in academic mobility, the training of medical personnel, oncology research, sanitary and epidemiological well-being, primary healthcare, and medical technologies and innovations, QazMonitor reports citing the Ministry of Healthcare.
Azhar Giniyat, the Minister of Healthcare, met in Astana with the Ambassador of France to Kazakhstan, Didier Canesse, to discuss a memorandum of cooperation concluded in December 2022.
This agreement was signed between Kazakhstan and the French healthcare development company C3Medical, aiming to launch a pilot telemedicine project in medical institutions of the North Kazakhstan region to improve primary healthcare in rural areas of the country.
The meeting was attended by Alexis Burnod, the head of the Department of Palliative Care at the Curie Institute. Previously, the French specialist visited the National Oncology Research Center in Astana and noted the prospects of oncological care in Kazakhstan.
At the end of the meeting, Giniyat invited the French side to participate in the Global Conference on Primary Health Care and the 73rd meeting of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe, scheduled for October 23-26 in Astana.
