On August 21 in Hanoi, during an official visit to Vietnam, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the chair of the board of SOVICO Group Nguyen Thanh Hung. The parties discussed the implementation of large joint investment projects, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of Akorda.

The discussions encompassed collaboration in promising sectors such as energy and logistics. Nguyen Thanh Hung specifically mentioned the group's intention to establish a trade and logistics hub in Kazakhstan. Moreover, the plan involves expanding the number of flights to the country operated by VietJet Air, a low-cost airline associated with SOVICO Group.

SOVICO Group is one of the largest diversified conglomerates in Vietnam, with core activities spanning energy, construction, banking and finance, and aviation sectors. The company reported a total revenue of $20.6 billion in 2022.
