Kazakhstan—Israel: Direct Flight May Launch Soon

Kazakhstan is currently considering launching direct flights to Israel following the introduction of an open skies policy at 11 airports and restoring international flights with 28 countries on 102 routes, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Sport.

The idea became the main topic of discussion in a meeting between the Minister of Culture and Sports Dauren Abayev and the Minister of Tourism of Israel Yoel Razvozov.

The establishment of direct flights with Israel will contribute to the development of the tourism and transit potential of Kazakhstan, as well as cultural cooperation, trade and economic cooperation. Presently, there is visa-free entry to Kazakhstan for citizens of Israel. Our Ministry jointly with the authorized bodies will study this issue.

During the conversation, the Minister focused on measures aimed at the development of tourism in Kazakhstan. In particular, he announced that the base of 183 investment projects has already been formed with consideration of favorable conditions for investors in the tourism sphere. The investment threshold was also decreased and different privileges in form of VAT exemption were granted.

The parties paid special attention to the promotion of tourist products in the markets of both countries within the framework of image-making events.

In his turn, Yoel Razvozov started by emphasizing the impact of coronavirus restrictions on the tourism industry and reasoned that much effort has to be invested in its recovery. He gave a high evaluation of the potential of mutual relations in tourism and expressed interest in the implementation of joint projects.
