Kazakhstan plans to introduce a mutual visa-free regime with 26 countries, including Austria, Saudi Arabia, San Marino, and Bahrain, QazMonitor reports citing the ministry of culture and sport.

The authorities are considering expanding the list of countries whose citizens can apply for an electronic visa to visit Kazakhstan, as well as abolishing the mandatory invitation requirement. In this regard, the authorities are currently working on simplifying visa procedures for residents of the United Arab Emirates.

Moldir Abdualiyeva, the culture ministry’s spokesperson, said that the ministry is working on migration control mechanisms and the introduction of the eQonaq information system.

"Kazakhstan is an interesting destination for foreign travelers and the ministry is working to unlock its full tourist potential and increase the flow of inbound tourists," said Abdualiyeva.
