On January 24, the Zhambyl administration met with the CEO of the ThiemeBieg & Associates GmbH consortium, Torsten Thieme, and discussed plans of the German company AMK Global GmbH to construct a waste processing plant in Taraz, QazMonitor reports citing the Ministry’s press service.
The waste plant is designed to have a daily processing capacity of 500 tons, creating 100 employment opportunities. The project, valued at €140 million, aims to efficiently process up to 80% of the waste using an automated waste sorting line.
Moreover, the company envisions the production of valuable by-products such as oxygen, nitrogen, compost, carbon fiber, and clean aviation fuel. The phased increase in capacity should facilitate the organized transportation and processing of waste at the landfill.
Representatives of the German company will conduct a comprehensive inspection of the landfill in Taraz during their working visit.
