To boost exports to Belarus, the Kazakh Trade Ministry has compiled a preliminary list of 105 domestic non-resource products from engineering and metals industries, as well as foods and chemicals, QazMonitor reports citing the ministry’s press service.
Arman Shakkaliyev, the Minister of Trade and Integration, discussed the positive dynamics in bilateral trade with Alexei Bogdanov, the Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of Belarus.
In 2022, the trade turnover between the two countries reached $1.1 billion. In H1 2023, the indicators showed a 1.5% increase, totaling $456-million turnover.
"The Heads of State [of Kazakhstan and Belarus] have set specific tasks for the governments of our countries to comprehensively develop Kazakh-Belarus relations, focusing on expanding trade, economic, investment, and scientific and technical cooperation. We should strive to increase our trade turnover, and we have the potential [to achieve] this," said Shakkaliyev.
