The Ministry of Agriculture seeks to impose a six-month ban on wheat imports, QazMonitor reports.
According to the draft decree published on the Open Legal Acts portal, the proposal suggests prohibiting the import of wheat from both the Eurasian Economic Union and third countries into Kazakhstan.
This ban would encompass imports via road and rail transport, with the exception of wheat importation by rail to licensed elevators, grain processors, and poultry enterprises.
The public discussion will continue until September 1.
