Qazaqstan Monitor: Chinese Company to Build 1 GW Wind Farm in Zhambyl Region

On August 3, first deputy prime minister Roman Sklyar held an online meeting with Wang Zichao, Chair of China Power International Holding Limited, to discuss the implementation of a wind farm in the Zhambyl region, QazMonitor reports citing primeminister.kz.

Under a previously agreed project for the construction of a 1 GW wind farm in the Zhambyl region, the sides discussed its progress and exchanged views on promising projects in the energy industry.

Sklyar noted that Kazakhstan pays great attention to increasing foreign direct investment in the country and expressed interest in further deepening cooperation in the renewable energy industry.

In turn, Zichao stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation in this field, assuring the Kazakh side of readiness for the project's implementation.
