The International University of Tourism and Hospitality (IUTH) in Turkistan is negotiating with the French Hotel and Business School Vatel to create a joint educational program in hotel management, QazMonitor reports citing the tourism industry committee.
The Vatel Group has established a global presence, with 50 hospitality management schools located across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and Africa, cementing its position as a prominent player in the international hospitality and tourism management industries.
The new educational program in Kazakhstan is the company’s second foray into Central Asia after cooperation with Bukhara International Hospitality School in Uzbekistan. At the moment, a roadmap and curriculum for the hotel management discipline are in progress.
Yerzhan Yerkinbayev, the vice-minister of culture and sports, noted that IUTH is constantly expanding its academic ties with foreign universities. Currently, it has agreements with 29 educational institutions around the world.
"Studying in these types of programs exposes students to additional knowledge and provides a valuable experience that will be helpful in the future. Similar joint projects are common in all countries, and Kazakhstan is no exception, especially when it comes to leading educational institutions in Europe," added Yerkinbayev.
