From June 7 to August 4, Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece La Bella Principessa from the Warsaw Sforziade Codex will be exhibited at the National Museum in Astana, QazMonitor reports citing the Museum’s press service.
Painting: La Bella Principessa is a portrait of a young lady believed to be Bianca Giovanna Sforza, a noblewoman from the House of Sforza, created by Leonardo da Vinci at the end of the 15th century. The Sforza family was prominent as the ruling family in Milan during the Italian Renaissance.
The promotion of culture serves as a powerful catalyst for dialogue between Italy and Kazakhstan. Leonardo da Vinci epitomizes the Renaissance man, symbolizing talent, genius, and creativity that remain relevant through the ages. The exhibition of one of his masterpieces in Astana presents a unique opportunity to strengthen cooperation between our countries.
La Bella Principessa has a history to it, disappearing from the public eye and resurfacing years later, making it one of da Vinci’s most mysterious and captivating creations. Exhibited only five times, the work consistently garnered immense interest from critics and the public. The painting will be exhibited in Astana as part of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed this January between the Ministries of Culture of Kazakhstan and Italy.
