The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) plans to grant a three-year senior loan of up to $35 million to women-led private micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Kazakhstan, QazMonitor reports.
As part of the Kazakhstan Women in Business II initiative, the EBRD is considering a loan to Microfinance Organization KMF, which aims to promote women's entrepreneurship and access to finance, by giving technical support in accessing know-how, business development tools, and networking opportunities.
At least 10% of the loan proceeds will be used for projects of women's enterprises that meet the criteria for transition to green economy.
