The luxury and lifestyle travel magazine Conde Nast Traveller has included the ski resort Shymbulak among the five best ski destinations in the world, QazMonitor reports citing the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
In its Italian edition, the magazine listed the legendary mountain resort as one of the must-visit places for winter sports enthusiasts worldwide, alongside the Troll Peninsula in Iceland, Mount Denali in Alaska, Stepantsminda in Georgia, and the Zao Onsen ski resort in Japan.
The editorial board highlighted Shymbulak, located just half an hour's drive from Almaty, for its unique combination of legendary atmosphere and modern comfort, and strongly recommended not to miss the après-ski amenities.
Previously, Almaty was featured in the “52 Places to Go in 2024” according to the New York Times, and Kazakhstan was also listed in the “Editors’ Hot List 2024” by another travel magazine, Wanderlust.
