The aviation authorities of Kazakhstan and Russia agreed to increase the number of international flights between the two countries and resume the operation of the Astana–Ufa route starting July 25, QazMonitor reports citing the Telegram channel of the civil aviation committee.

The Russian operator Red Wings Airlines will conduct bi-weekly flights between Astana and Ufa on Tuesdays and Fridays, utilizing the Sukhoi Superjet-95 aircraft.

Earlier, it was reported that the two countries had negotiated the resumption of the Almaty–Sochi flight route as well. It is expected that the reopening of flight routes between Kazakhstan and Russia will contribute to the bilateral development of trade, economy, tourism, and cultural cooperation.
