The Turkmenistan national airline resumed direct flights on the Almaty–Ashgabat route on June 2, QazMonitor reports citing the civil aviation committee.
As part of the negotiations, the civil aviation authorities of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan reached an agreement to relaunch the air route between the two countries. Turkmenistan Airlines will operate one flight per week on Fridays utilizing Boeing 737 aircraft.
The resumption of air links is anticipated to facilitate the continued development of bilateral economic, business, and tourism cooperation between the countries.
