Azerbaijan Airlines will launch flights to Astana and Almaty in March 2023, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of the company.

Starting from March 16, the airline will start operating flights en route Baku-Astana-Baku. Flights on the route will be operated twice a week. Flights from Baku to Astana will be operated on Mondays and Thursdays, and on Tuesdays and Fridays en route Astana-Baku.

From March 17, AZAL will launch flights from Baku to Almaty. They will also operate twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Kazakhstan has extended the open sky regime for five years. It is valid in 12 airports, including the two capitals. The regime provides for the removal of all restrictions on the number of flights to foreign airlines on routes where Kazakhstan carriers do not operate.
