Viewers at Lincoln Cinema had the chance to see a number of films, including the sports drama "The Paralympian", the historical blockbuster "The Dawn of the Great Steppe", and the films "The Last Seance", "Fire", "Zoe Returns", and "Tarlan" (co-production of Kazakhstan and Tatarstan).
There were also a retrospective screening of "Tulip" and an exclusive screening of "Infinity", created by filmmakers from France, Belgium, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and other countries.
The opening of the festival was attended by film directors, their French colleagues, representatives of the Film Center, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in France, and journalists. The guest list of the event included actress Samal Yeslyamova, directors Darezhan Omirbayev, Sergey Dvortsevoy, Aldiyar Bayrakimov, Aizhan Kasymbek, producers Diana Ashimova and Laura Yergaliyeva, and others.
This year the Kazakh Film Festival expanded its borders and will be held in Paris, Strasbourg, Brussels, Luxembourg, and Geneva. The festival is timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and France.
The French Association of Kazakh cinema, headed by André Raphael Ivanov, organized the festival.
