Kazakhstan’s Junior Powerlifters Won 38 Medals at World Championship

Boris Bukatka became the champion in equipped powerlifting in his weight class

Junior powerlifters from Karagandy’s regional sports school earned a total of 38 medals at the 2022 World Classic & Equipped Sub-Junior & Junior Powerlifting Championships in Istanbul, Turkey, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of Karagandy’s city council.

The championship attracted over 400 athletes from Italy, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, India, and other countries.

Kazakh athletes competed in separate exercises in the categories of equipped and raw powerlifting.

Boris Bukatka in the weight сlass of 66 kg won the champion title in equipped powerlifting. Aytas Ospanov, Timur Khuziakhmetov, Danila Kleikin, Vasily Scherbina, Polina Onufrak, Regina Gaas, and Karina Tychkova also earned medals in their respective categories.

In total, the team won 25 medals in exercises for equipped powerlifting, and 13 in unequipped powerlifting.
