President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani on Wednesday, August 31, Qazmonitor reports.
The main topic of the meeting centered around the prospects for the development of Kazakh-Qatari relations, with special attention paid to the expansion of trade and economic cooperation.
President Tokayev expressed Kazakhstan’s willingness to participate in the first meeting of the foreign ministers of Central Asia and the Persian Gulf that will be held in Riyadh in September.
The Qatari minister delivered Tokayev a greeting from the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and confirmed his visit to Kazakhstan in the near future.
