Janibek Alimkhanuly, who goes by his alias Qazaq Style, has become world champion in the middleweight class, Qazmonitor reports citing Sports.kz.
It was announced a few days ago that Alimkhanuly will receive the main WBO title after Demetrius Andrade gave up his belt by moving up to the welterweight weight class to avoid the scheduled match between the two fighters.
Alimkhanuly previously held the interim WBO champion title after knocking out Danny Dignum in the second round of the match in May.
The Kazakh boxer shared his intention of later pursuing the Andrade in that division.
At the same time, ESPN TV has published the official rating of middle weight boxers, where two Kazakh boxers made the top 5.
First place was given to WBC champion Jermall Charlo, followed by WBA Super, IBF and IBO title-holder Gennady Golovkin and WBO belt-holder Demetrius Andrade.
Zhanibek Alimkhanuly, who was ranked seventh in the previous release, moved up to fourth place.
