Janibek Alimkhanuly knocked out British Danny Dignum in the second round of the bout for the vacant interim WBO middleweight champion title in Las Vegas on May 21, Tengrinews reports. This is the first defeat for Dignum in his professional boxing career and the 12th win for Alimkhanuly.

After the win, Alimkhanuly gave out a message challenging his future opponents.

“I am in the ring right now, and I want to tell every champion in this weight class, I am here waiting for you. I am asking every champion to come and fight me.”

Alimkhanuly also added: “I told {Dignum} I wish him luck in the future. I think he’s a good fighter. He showed good skills and has a big future.”

Top Rank Boxing Chairman Bob Arum gave his own commentary about Alimkhanuly's win.

“Janibek is the next middleweight superstar. There is no doubt that he is the future of the division. What a sensational performance from a great young man and fighter.”

The ambitious boxer took to his official Twitter page with the handle @qazaqstyle to make sure to set the record straight on his views on Gennady Golovkin, or Triple G.
