Almaty continues to grapple with a worsening epidemiological situation as the city moves closer to entering the high-risk 'red zone', Qazmonitor reports citing Tengrinews.
According to the Interdepartmental Commission on the non-proliferation of coronavirus, Almaty is still in the ‘yellow zone', for now.
The rest of the regions and cities of Kazakhstan are in the ‘green zone'. Nur-Sultan has been lingering close to the borders of the ‘yellow zone' for several days.
For the last 24 hours, 454 coronavirus cases have been confirmed by positive PCR tests in Kazakhstan.
Most of the cases were found in Almaty – 200, Nur-Sultan – 118, Almaty region – 30, Shymkent – 23, Zhambyl region – 17, Atyrau region – 16, and Kyzylorda and Karagandy regions – 12 and 11.
As of July 11, around 2,837 patients are receiving treatment for coronavirus.
