KazMunayGas, the oil and gas company, announced the extension of its current contract for supplying Kazakh oil to Germany until the end of 2024, QazMonitor reports citing the company’s press service.

Export route: KazMunayGas supplies the PCK Refinery in Schwedt, Germany, with KEBCO brand oil via the Atyrau–Samara oil pipeline, continuing through the Druzhba pipeline in Russia. From January to April this year, the transportation volume reached 100,000 tons of oil per month.

  • The company sources its supply from the Aksay field, operated by Karachaganak Petroleum Operating, a consortium of companies implementing the project in the West Kazakhstan region.

  • The Kazakh Export Blend Crude Oil (KEBCO) brand was introduced in June 2022 to differentiate Kazakh oil from Russian brands, such as URALS and Siberian Light, pumped through the Druzhba pipeline. This distinction aims to minimize the negative impact of international sanctions on Kazakh crude oil exports.
