What is happening: The Republican Headquarters is coordinating efforts in Aktobe, Akmola, Kostanay, West Kazakhstan, North Kazakhstan, and Pavlodar regions, reported the Ministry of Emergency Situations on March 30, at 11:00 am.
Currently, 7,783 people including 2,800 children, have been rescued and evacuated by civil protection services.
Approximately 3,131 people, including 1,093 children, are housed in temporary accommodations.
The flood response involves over 6,000 people, 3,000 units of equipment, and 12 aircraft from various emergency response agencies.
Rescue operations have been carried out by aircraft from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Defense, National Security Committee, and National Guard, rescuing 644 individuals, including 236 children.
Efforts to manage floodwaters included pumping out more than 3.5 million cubic meters of meltwater and deploying over 300,000 bags of inert material.
On March 29, at 7:08 pm, the Emergency Ministry reported that transportation connections were severed in 45 settlements across West Kazakhstan, Kostanay, East Kazakhstan, Akmola, Aktobe, Abay, and Ulytau regions. Local administrations in Aktobe, Kostanay, West Kazakhstan, Abay, Ulytau, and Akmola regions have declared local states of emergency.
