Minister of Trade and Integration, Arman Shakkaliev, spoke about the results of the ministry’s work in 2023 and plans for the coming period, QazMonitor reports.

Trade House in Dubai: "...Next week we will open the Kazakhstan Trade House in Dubai at the site of the national company QazExpoCongress. We will actively use the pavilion not only as a showroom for Kazakhstani goods but, for the first time, we will actively promote engineering, medical, and IT services," said the Minister at the extended board meeting.

Partnership with China: Shakkaliev recapped that in 2023 China ranked first on the list of Kazkahstan's major trading partners. "Almost half of the trade turnover is concentrated around China's Xinjiang. Since last year, we have been actively working on export-oriented projects with Hubei and Sichuan provinces," Minister Shakkaliev said, adding that work with each of the PRC provinces will be targeted and focused on regionalization. "Already in March this year, we will send a large group of businessmen to Sichuan Province."

Export Credit Agency: To promote exports of non-resource goods and services, the Ministry intends to develop infrastructure using financial and non-financial instruments. "The institutional framework for the development and promotion of non-resource products and services exports has been formed. Based on the experience of developed countries, an Export Credit Agency has been created, which will provide a full range of insurance and financial support measures," the Minister specified.

Made in KZ: The Ministry plans to introduce more measures to support Kazakhstan’s exporters.

  • Service support for exporters will be concentrated at QazTrade Center for Trade Policy Development.

  • Until 2026, a full-fledged “one-window” support mechanism will be developed for export development and promotion.

  • The Ministry will promote Kazakh products and the umbrella brand "Made in KZ", where QazTrade will act as a supplies consolidator.
