On January 23, the Kazakhstan junior ice hockey team secured a 22:13 victory against the Great Britain team in the men’s 3-on-3 tournament and advanced to the semifinals at the Winter Youth Olympics in the South Korean city of Gangwon, QazMonitor reports.
The Kazakh players have displayed strong performance throughout the tournament, emerging victorious against Team Poland (18:8), Team Chinese Taipei (14:2), and Team Spain (14:4), in addition to the recent win against Great Britain. However, they faced setbacks with three losses to Team Austria (8:9), Team Latvia (11:15), and Team Denmark (6:8).
The semifinals will see Team Kazakhstan facing Team Latvia once again, with the match scheduled for January 24 at 12:00 a.m. local time. In another duel for the finals, Team Austria and Team Denmark will square off on the same day at 1:30 p.m.
