An international conference marking the fifth anniversary of the Declaration of Astana and the 45th anniversary of the Declaration of Alma-Ata, with a focus on primary healthcare policy and practice under the theme "Policy and Practice in Primary Healthcare: Striving for Excellence," is currently taking place in Astana, QazMonitor reports.
At the conference, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted the shared commitment to enhancing global health and well-being.
I suggest that global primary healthcare could benefit from the establishment of a dedicated coordinating structure. I propose the establishment of a coalition of countries dedicated to primary healthcare, with the support of the World Health Organization.
The President stressed that the primary mission of this coalition should be to promote preventive healthcare principles, public health, and the collaborative development of recommendations to advance primary healthcare.
"I am looking forward to today's concluding statement by young delegates on primary healthcare policy and practice. I am confident that this statement will reflect the youth's perspective on this matter," added the President.
