World no. 5 Elena Rybakina advances past world no. 53 Tatjana Maria to the third round of the China Open in Beijing, QazMonitor reports.

The Kazakh player displayed a strong performance in her encounter against the German opponent, winning 7:5, 6:0 in just one hour and eleven minutes. During the match, Rybakina served nine aces and made one double fault, while Maria managed one ace and three double faults.

In the third round on October 4, Elena Rybakina will face world no. 60 Mirra Andreeva.

In men's tennis, the Astana Open has determined its winners. World no. 34 Adrian Mannarino claimed the singles title, while the duo of Nathaniel Lammons (no. 28) and Jackson Withrow (no. 29) became the doubles champions.

France's Adrian Mannarino successfully defeated American Sebastian Korda in the grand finals with a score of 4:6, 6:3, 6:2. In doubles, Americans Lammons and Withrow emerged victorious over the Croatian-Australian duo of Mate Pavic and John Pearce with scores of 7:6 (7:4), 7:6 (9:7).

On September 26–October 3, the capital hosted the Astana Open, an ATP 250 tour tournament that attracted the world's best players to compete for the championship title. Among them were world no. 28 Sebastian Korda, Alexander Bublik (no. 35), Stan Wawrinka (no. 47), and Dominic Thiem (no. 81).
