Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov held talks with the World Bank's Regional Director for Central Asia Tatiana Proskuryakova, the PM’s press service reported.

The parties discussed the implementation of promising projects aimed to develop the transport and logistics infrastructure in Kazakhstan, speed up the digitalization process, as well as improve the environmental condition of the Aral Sea region.

Alikhan Smailov noted that the government puts great importance on cooperation with the World Bank within the framework of the Partnership Framework Strategy for 2020-2025, contributing to the further development of the republic's economy.

Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of the Joint Economic Research Program, which has become an effective analytical and advisory tool.

"In general, the Government of Kazakhstan expresses readiness to deepen partnership with the Bank on the widest range of issues of mutual interest," - said the Prime Minister.

In turn, Tatiana Proskuryakova confirmed the interest of the World Bank in the implementation of new projects in Kazakhstan.

We have formed a very good program. Last year we reviewed our portfolio in the republic and we were convinced that we have a very effective interaction in many areas, a lot of successes. And I see great prospects in the development of our cooperation.
