On July 12, the embassy of Lithuania in Kazakhstan opened the country's honorary consulate in the city of Atyrau, QazMonitor reports.
Gintautas Vasiulis, the ambassador of Lithuania to Kazakhstan, arrived in Atyrau on an official visit and met with Zhasulan Bisembiyev, the deputy governor of the Atyrau region. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues pertaining to the further development of the transportation, logistics, construction, and manufacturing industries.
Following the meeting, the participants took part in the opening ceremony of the honorary consulate in Atyrau, located at Student Avenue 52. Bolat Bushanov was appointed as the honorary consul of Lithuania in the Atyrau region.
The trade turnover between the Atyrau region and Lithuania amounted to $222.8 million during the January-May period of this year. The region imported a volume of $200,000 and exported $222.6 million to the Baltic country.
