The minister of national economy Alibek Kuantyrov discussed the bilateral cooperation in energy, green economy, transportation, infrastructure, and agriculture with Ludger Schuknecht, the vice president and corporate secretary of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), QazMonitor reports citing the ministry's press service.
Kuantyrov informed his colleague about the national carbon neutrality strategy until 2060, adopted on February 2 of this year. This plan involves key sectors of the economy and defines the main elements necessary to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as well as measures to improve energy efficiency and develop renewable energy sources.
"I propose that AIIB develop the bank’s country partnership strategy for Kazakhstan in the medium term. This document will serve as a roadmap for AIIB activities in our country," added Kuantyrov.
In turn, Schuknecht assessed the prospects of Kazakhstan in infrastructure projects, the financial market, and renewable energy, and expressed readiness for cooperation.
