On June 6, Kazakhstan participated in the United Nations International Bazaar, an annual fundraising event held at the UN headquarters in New York, QazMonitor reports citing the MFA press service.

The United Nations Delegations Women’s Club (UNDWC) traditionally hosted the event under the patronage of the UN Secretary General's spouse. The President of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly Chaba Körösi delivered a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony.

The Permanent Mission of Kazakhstan also participated in the organization of the UN charity event. Participants and guests of the event had an opportunity to get acquainted with the craftsmanship, traditional folk costumes, household items, souvenirs, as well as educational books about Kazakhstan, which were presented at the country’s booth. A concert program featured a variety of performances of musicians and dancers, including Kazakh artists.

The products made by Kazakh women entrepreneurs within such projects as Asyl-mura (tailoring workshop), One Village - One Product (local production) and Women Entrepreneurship Academy sparked special interest among the audience.

All the funds raised will be allocated towards charitable initiatives within the UN projects globally.
