The Institute for Eurasian Integration (IEI) presented the exit poll results of the March 19 parliamentary elections, QazMonitor reports.
According to Aigerim Yergenbolatkyzy, a representative of the institute, the IEI interviewed voters at polling stations in 17 regions of Kazakhstan, in the cities of Astana, Almaty, and Shymkent.
More than 30,000 voters participated in the face-to-face survey, covering a total of 200 polling stations – 123 in cities and 75 in villages. The margin of error didn’t exceed 1%. Overall, a total of five polls were conducted during the day.
"Preliminary polling was conducted at 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 7 p.m., and 9:00 p.m. The turnout was 53.25%," said Yergenbolatkyzy.
According to the exit polls, the following parties passed the 5% threshold and entered the Mazhilis (Parliament’s lower chamber):
– Amanat – 53.46%
– Auyl People's Democratic Patriotic Party – 10.52%
– Respublica – 8.9%
– Ak Zhol Democratic Party – 7.87%
– People's Party of Kazakhstan – 6.25%
– National Social Democratic Party of Kazakhstan – 5.31%
Baytaq Green Party didn’t pass the threshold, gaining 3.25% of the overall vote. 4.47% of the respondents voted against all.
