First deputy PM Roman Sklyar met with representatives of the Permanent International Association of Road Congresses (PIARC) to discuss the establishment of the organization’s national committee in Kazakhstan, QazMonitor reports.

PIARC, also known as the World Road Association, is an international forum that facilitates a global discussion on road expertise and transport policies and practices. The Association was founded in 1909 in Paris, France. To date, the organization has established itself in 142 countries, with 47 national committees representing PIARC at the state level.

During the meeting, PIARC president Nazir Alli said that Kazakhstan's accession in 2022 opened the country to cooperation with more than 1,200 international experts and gave access to modern technical developments and industry documentation related to roads, engineering structures, and road traffic.

The parties also discussed Kazakstan’s participation in the upcoming World Road Congress in Prague, Czech Republic.
