Gennadiy Golovkin resigned his WBA championship belt, vacating his last middleweight title spot, QazMonitor reports.

The boxer decided he will not defend his title against the 39-year-old regular champion from Cuba, Erislandy Lara. Some fans are speculating whether GGG will announce his retirement in the coming days. Golovkin is turning 41 on April 8th.

He had already vacated his IBF belt, leaving Esquiva Falcao to become the IBF middleweight champion.
