Global consulting company Surbana Jurong Infrastructure Pte Ltd signed a memorandum with the city council (akimat) of Almaty region on the development and construction of urban project G4 city, QazMonitor reports.

Deputy Akim of Almaty region Nurzhan Kudaibergenov and general director of Surbana Jurong Infrastructure Choon Chong met in Singapore where they reached an agreement following an ongoing discussion on city design for the past few years.

According to akimat’s press service, the memorandum establishes a development framework of the master plan in accordance with the laws of Kazakhstan.

So far, Surbana Jurong Group has been responsible for ensuring the quality of engineering and communication infrastructure.

The project on the development of four new satellite towns "G4 City" has been ongoing since 2008 in the Almaty region. Last year, the Plan of Organizational Measures for the implementation of this project was approved.

According to the Concept signed by the President of Kazakhstan, the project will be developed as an integrated city located along highway Almaty-Konaev and will consist of four districts: Gate – business and financial center, Golden – educational and medical hubs, Growing – industrial and logistic hubs, and Green – tourism and entertainment.

"We believe that behind the project of our Kazakhstani colleagues "G4 City" is the future of the whole region and future generations. Our task is to find the best solution to develop a master plan implemented in a quality and unique residential project,” Choong said according to the akimat press service.

“By designing and delivering quality housing, jobs, roads, railroads, hydroelectric power plants, dams, underground and coastal protective structures, and other critical infrastructure required by our customers, we are changing cities and turning them into sustainable and livable spaces.”
