A square dedicated to the United Nations will be opened in Astana, QazMonitor reports citing Kazinform.
The square will begin at Alikhan Bokeykhanov Avenue. The opening coincides with the upcoming visit of Antonio Guterres to Kazakhstan in March.
This is the latest change to the naming of districts and streets in the capital city. Earlier, it was reported that the district on the left bank will be called Nura.
Also, a street will be named in honor of firefighter Askar Zabikulin, who passed away due to severe burns received while saving lives.
