Kazakhstan, who is a TRACECA (Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia) member, is planning to sign an agreement on visa-free travel for professional drivers, QazMonitor reports.
TRACECA is an international transport program involving all 27 states of the European Union and 12 member states in Eastern Europe, as well as the Caucasus and Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Iran, the Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Romania, Tajikistan, Turkiye, Uzbekistan and Ukraine).
According to the agreement, professional drivers from a member state will be allowed visa-free entry, exit and 15-day transit through the territory of another member. Drivers will not be allowed to remain in the country for purposes other than professional activities.
An eligible driver must be a citizen or permanent resident of one of the signatory states. Moreover, the vehicle must be registered in the specified states. At the border control, the driver must provide documents confirming their professional activities.
