The national team of Kazakhstan won a medal in every single event for the first time at the World Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Championships, held on November 26-27 in Graz, Austria, QazMonitor reports.

Our gymnasts became bronze medalists in the team competition in the senior and junior categories.

  • Bronze medalists in the team competition in the Seniors category: Team Carmelita, Team Kerbez, Team Aphrodite

  • Bronze medalists in the team competition in the Junior category: Team Sunrise, Team Kerbez Elite, Team Samruk

  • Astana’s team Alan Junior also earned bronze in the IFAGG tournament held as part of the World Championships

"The struggle between teams from different countries was intense; the competition is very high. Our athletes represented Kazakhstan on the international sports scene honorably," commented Venera Dzhailauova, the head coach.

This is the second major success of Kazakhstani gymnasts in the international arena this fall. In late October at the Asian Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Team Kazakhstan won five gold, five silver, and one bronze medal out of the six medal sets played.

Although the development of aesthetic group gymnastics began recently in 2017, Kazakh gymnasts have demonstrated impressive results in a short amount of time.

"We managed to achieve such high results in a relatively short period, and the current two bronze medals at the World Championships in Austria for our country is a real breakthrough in the history of gymnastics, as well as an incentive for further growth and development of aesthetic group gymnastics in Kazakhstan."

Madina Bekturganova, president of the Kazakhstan Federation of Aesthetic Group Gymnastics

The next World Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Championship will be held in November 2023 in Almaty.
