Finnish railway company Nurminen Logistics in cooperation with NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC has started regular railway transport operations from Europe to Kazakhstan, QazMonitor reports citing the company’s press service.
In March 2022, the companies agreed to commercialize the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. The first train departed on November 21 with the subsequent departures expected in December. At the same time, the Kazakh side plans to increase the number of consignments from Europe to Kazakhstan to three times a week.
It is expected that up to 40 high-cube shipping containers can be transported along the route.
