Guardians of the Galaxy stars Michael Rooker and Sean Gunn wowed the audience at Astana Comic Con and were charmed by young fans and the futuristic skyline of the Kazakh capital, QazMonitor reports.
During a Q&A session, Gunn noted that Astana could be an ideal set for sci-fi movies, recalling that Kazakhstan was one of the possible shooting locations for the first Guardians of the Galaxy back in 2014. Sadly, the film crew decided to go with another location. Gunn went on to express his admiration for Khan Shatyr and the iconic Baiterek world tree, although he didn't have much time to explore.
Fellow Guardians of the Galaxy actor Michael Rooker, on the other hand, shared his sheer delight in the festival's attendees, especially the kids.
And [speaking about] the littles… they're very-very well-spoken. At this experience here, we have six-year-olds, seven, eight. The young children who came up to us were very intelligent. They knew how to use their phones, they took selfies, and they were already speaking English, too! It's amazing, and I've had a very positive experience here.
Gunn echoed Rooker’s sentiments, emphasizing his own motivation for attending conventions—to connect with fans. He also extended appreciation to the tireless backstage crew for their efforts in organizing this remarkable event.
