A creative collection of artworks under the name ‘Kazakh funny games’ by Saule Dyussenbina, @saule_dyuss, is entering the NFT market. More than 10 paintings will be animated as digital wallpaper. While it is by no means a front-runner from Kazakhstan, the intention behind the images is to revitalize ancient traditions.
About the artist
Saule Dyussenbina was born in 1971 in Karaganda. She currently lives and works in Almaty.
She turns still images depicting the ordinary Kazakh reality into prints for everyday objects: pillows, plates, wallpaper.
"I am interested in people and the everyday phenomena that occur in our lives. Through my art, I try to understand how we influence and transform each other. I connect with the time in which I live now as well as with art from around the world that had an influence on me."
About the collection
‘Kazakh Funny Games’ is a collection of 26 prints that Saule created back in 2016-2017.
"Since ancient times, traditional ornaments had sacred meanings. They were geometric codes that people used to interpret everyday events, but, over time, such practices made life into a chain of repetitive events that eventually lost their meaning."
"They become an ordinary ornament on wallpapers, so they cease to be noticeable to people. But, at the same time, those elements do not stop living their own special life. They become universal and start appearing everywhere – and when they surround a man from all sides, he tries to unravel the meanings all over again."
Kazakhstan artists, designers, and other creative people want to enter the global art market, and it is much easier and faster to do it now with the help of NFT. The Internet, and more specifically, social media platforms, just don't give as many opportunities to officially register your artwork as NFT does.
What is NFT?
A Non-fungible token is a type of cryptographic token, each instance of which is unique and cannot be exchanged or replaced with another similar token. In fact, NFT is a digital analog of a document certifying the right to a digital asset. It "embeds" the data about the owner and a set of rights, which is provided by the token.
For example, the NF token with the first tweet in Twitter's history, made by its founder Jack Dorsey, was sold for almost 3 million euros. Many experts believe that NFT is the future of art.
