Czech transportation and logistics company Transco will open a representative office in Kazakhstan, QazMonitor reports citing Kazakh Invest.
The company representatives met with the heads of the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC) and with Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Almaz Idyrysov to discuss plans to establish overland transportation of Kazakh products to the EU and neighboring countries.
Transco also expressed their intention to further localize the body assembly of motor vehicles in Kazakhstan.
Headquartered in Germany, Transco Süd Internationale Transporte occupies leading positions in Eastern and Central Europe, with an annual turnover of over €150 million. With its presence in ten European countries with 31 representative offices, the agreement contributes to Kazakhstan’s goals of strengthening bilateral trade with EU.
Main shareholder and Managing Director of the company Christian Bühler said that after the closure of the office in Russia, it was important for the company to maintain a presence in the Central Asia.
