Kazakhstan, Netherlands Ink 8 Commercial Agreements in Astana

The sides agreed to cooperate in agriculture, healthcare, ecology, and education

Kazakhstan and the Netherlands signed eight commercial documents to boost bilateral relations in agriculture, healthcare, ecology, and education, QazMonitor reports citing Kazakh Invest.

The signed documents include:

  • A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the National Center for Biotechnology of the Ministry of Agriculture and Viscon Group. They agreed to implement a project for constructing an automated center that produces seed pieces. This project aims to enhance the sustainability, quality, and yield of crops by utilizing artificial intelligence technologies and in vitro cultivation methods. It's scheduled to run from 2024 to 2026, with an annual production capacity of 12 million seedlings.

  • A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Agriculture and Royal GD to improve the local veterinary system. The project aims to upgrade the local veterinary system to meet international standards for quality control of livestock products. This will enable the export of domestic products to Western markets.

  • A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Healthcare and Royal Philips. Under the project, Philips plans to manufacture portable ultrasound devices locally in Kazakhstan.

  • Memorandum between the State Inspection Committee in Agriculture and Naktuinbouw on improving the phytosanitary system and mutual support for accession to the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants.

  • Memorandum on the implementation of carbon credit generation in the Kyzylorda region between the administration of the Kyzylorda region, the Kazakhstan Biodiversity Fund, and DGB Group.

  • Memorandum of Understanding between the administration of the Kyzylorda region and Spectator Ehealth Holding B.V. on the implementation of a telemedicine project.

  • Memorandum of Cooperation between the Center for International Programs (Kazakhstan) and the Erasmus Medical Center on the allocation of specialized grants.

  • Memorandum on the development of fisheries between the Fisheries Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Alltech Coppens.
