The Belgian Foreign Trade Agency plans to hold a joint business forum for Kazakh businesses in Belgium this year, QazMonitor reports citing the Ministry of Trade and Integration.
What happened: On April 8, the Vice Minister of Trade and Integration, Kairat Torebayev, met in Brussels with Rose Donck, the Head of Department for State Visits and Trade Missions at the Belgian Foreign Trade Agency. The parties discussed the volume of bilateral trade and agreed that its level does not match the existing potential.
Donck noted that her agency plans to prepare a business seminar on investment, trade, and economic opportunities in Kazakhstan for 200 Belgian companies. According to the Belgian official, the last trade mission to Kazakhstan took place in 2010; the Agency is planning one in the near future.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to jointly prepare a business forum in Belgium this year, with 200 participating enterprises from the two countries.
Additionally, Vice Minister Torebayev invited the Belgian side to participate in the Astana International Forum scheduled for June 13-14 in the capital.
