During the China International Import Expo 2023 in Shanghai, JSC NAC Kazatomprom signed a contract with China National Uranium Company Limited – CNUC for the supply of Kazakh natural uranium concentrates, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of Kazatomprom.
This contract with a major Chinese energy company will address the growing demand in China for clean, carbon-free energy, simultaneously reinforcing the ties between the two nations in the nuclear industry.
“Kazatomprom's market-centric strategy focuses on the production, processing, and sales of natural uranium to create long-term value for all its stakeholders. Long-term cooperation with one of the major Chinese energy companies, CNUC, highlights Kazatomprom's reputation as a reliable and preferred supplier to the global nuclear fuel market,” said Seitzhan Zhanybekov, Kazatomprom’s Managing Director of Strategy and Marketing.
In the official statement, the company highlighted the confidentiality and commercial sensitivity of the contract's volumes and terms, emphasizing that such details are not subject to public disclosure.
