Food Solutions KZ will no longer operate under the McDonald's brand in Kazakhstan due to supply constraints, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of the company.

"The reopening and timing of the new quick-service restaurants under a new name will be announced shortly. After the opening of the restaurant chain, customers will be offered high-quality products, a diverse menu, and good service. The quick-service restaurants will continue to operate under the current high standards, values, and business principles," says the official message.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that McDonald's may leave Kazakhstan, due to disruption of the supply chain. According to the publication's sources, the U.S. fast food company has banned its Kazakh franchisee from buying ground meat from Russian suppliers.

The first restaurant under the McDonald's brand in Kazakhstan was opened in 2016. During this time, the company opened 24 McDonald's restaurants in Almaty, Astana, Atyrau, Aktobe, Kostanay, and Karagandy.
