Kazakh entrepreneurs are interested in exporting domestic products to Pakistan, said Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration Serik Zhumangarin during the 11th Intergovernmental Commission held in Islamabad on December 22, QazMonitor reports citing the prime minister's press service.
The export products include grain and legume crops, vegetable oil, pasta, flour, and confectionery products. Kazakhstan, in turn, is interested in importing fruits and vegetables.
“In the future, our country is ready to supply the Pakistani market with about 80 types of processed goods of various industries worth over $411 million," said Minister Zhumangarin.
To ensure Kazakh exporters have the quickest access to the southern seaports, Kazakhstan has also expressed interest in the diversification of transport and export routes of supplies to South Asian markets.
Our delegation discussed the possibility of a road transit through Afghanistan with Pakistan's logistics company NLC (National Logistic Cell). The company confirmed its readiness to ensure transportation and the delivery of goods from Pakistan to Kazakhstan and back.
This is not the only transport and logistics agreement between the two countries.
Kazakh and Pakistani entrepreneurs also held talks at B2B meetings of Kazakh and Pakistani businesses and a Joint Business Council, where Kazakh transport and logistics company Dala Trans LLP and Pakistani Haroon Brothers and Co signed a memorandum on mutual cooperation.
The companies will work together to attract freight traffic for goods from Pakistan to Kazakhstan as well as for transit through Pakistan by rail and other most favorable multimodal routes.
Commercial Director of Dala Trans LLP Nursultan Najmetdinov noted Pakistan's keen interest in the supply of Kazakh goods.
"Now we are discussing with other potential partners the transportation of 2,500 tons of flour from Kostanay to Hairatan, and about 50 thousand tons of potatoes from Pakistan every year," said Najmetdinov.
