AirAsia to Operate Flights from Kazakhstan to Malaysia and Thailand

The airline confirms routes and flight frequencies to Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok

Malaysian airlines AirAsia plans to launch flights from Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok to Almaty and Astana, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.

Operating since 1996, AirAsia is one of the largest low-cost airlines on the continent. The company operates flights to more than 400 destinations in 25 countries. They maintain a fleet of more than 250 aircraft.

In a meeting with Kazakh state officials, the company representatives confirmed their plans to launch the first phase of flights from Kuala Lumpur (Air Asia X) and Bangkok (Thai Air Asia X) to Almaty with a frequency of four flights a week on each route. The second phase will be for the route to Astana with a flight frequency of three times a week.

AirAsia also proposed to operate fifth freedom flights to Istanbul, Paris, Frankfurt, and London via Kazakhstan.
