How You Can Celebrate Capital Day in Nur-Sultan

A list of city-wide events for July 6. No fireworks this year

There will be no fireworks on Capital City Day in Nur-Sultan this year, QazMonitor reports. Instead, dozens of events, from concerts to sports festivals, are scheduled to commemorate the 24th anniversary of the city, according to the official website of the Nur-Sultan city administration.

From July 1 to July 6, the Atameken ethno-memorial complex will host an art exhibition on the theme of "Landscapes of the capital". Another exhibition "El Tiregi - Elorda" will be held from July 1 to July 8.

The festival of urban culture "Mereke Street" will be held in the Central Park from July 4 to 6 .

Those who enjoy sports can visit the sports arena "Coliseum" near the monument "Otan Ana" to watch the streetball tournament "Nur Sultan Cup" from July 5 and 6. From July 5 to 9, Astana Ballet invites you to visit the premiere of the ballet "Orpheus and Eurydice".

On Capital City Day, July 6, a sports competition titled "Elorda Tolqyny" will start in Triathlon Park at 11:00 a.m. Meanwhile, at Kazanat Hippodrome, riders will compete in baiga [traditional Kazakh horse-riding race] for the "Capital City Cup". In the evening, at 9:00 p.m., Ulykpan Zholdasov will perform with the program "Ak kanat - Ak Kusym" on the stage of the Amphitheatre.

From 6:00 to 10:00 p.m., the traditional open-air concert "Halykpen birge" will be held at the "Astana-Arena" stadium parking. On the evening of the same day, citizens can enjoy a concert dedicated to the creative work of the music band "Dos Mukasan" at "Kazakhstan" Central Concert Hall.
