Kazakhstan and Maldives signed a mutual exemption from visa requirements, which will allow their citizens to enter and stay in the other country for a period not exceeding 30 calendar days. Kapital.kz published the announcement made on the official government website.

Individuals intending to enter for employment, study or business purposes, need to apply for the appropriate visa.

In October 2021, Kazakhstan and Maldives mutually recognized vaccination passports that exempt their citizens from the obligation to provide PCR certificates with a negative test result on COVID-19 when crossing the borders of the two countries.

In addition, the meeting marks Kazakh Ambassador Nurlan Zhalgasbaev's first official introduction to Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih since his appointment.

The president congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and expressed his hopes that the partnership will contribute to the progressive development of mutually beneficial relations between the two states.
